Psychology at St. Stephen’s University is the scientific study of human behaviour and mental processes, enveloped in an Arts program. There are two faces to psychology: some of the best psychologists have been poets, philosophers, and theologians, but until a scientific foundation developed in the 19th century, it was difficult to assess whether observations and intuitions were brilliant insights or empirically invalid. Here at SSU, we want to provide a humanities-based approach to understanding and working with people that is also grounded in research.
