Dave Gorrie, MEd

Born and raised in Saskatchewan, Dave was one of the first six students at SSU. He has a B. Ed and M. Ed from the University of Saskatchewan, and has also studied at Simon Fraser University and Regent College on the UBC campus. He worked as a group home staff worker, teacher assistant, and Teacher of
students who were Deaf, Blind, and/or Multiply Handicapped. He also worked as a counsellor and crisis counsellor (K-12) in two rural school divisions through MacNeill Clinic in Saskatoon. His primary career was as a School Psychologist in Regina Saskatchewan for more than 20 years. During that time he was
also Behaviour Consultant for the School Division and as Special Needs Coordinator for the Division. His life focus has been supporting students with special needs (PreK to Grade 12) as well as supporting teachers and parents in their roles with these children. He has been married to Marion for more than 40
years and they have 3 grown children and 3 grandchildren.
